So I decided that my first real post would be about my brush
collection so that you can compare and contrast my sisters brush
collection with mine. As you can see I own mostly MAC brushes but you
can also use paint brushes like my sister does. More expensive doesn't
necessarily mean better quality. My collection started out really
small with one of the brush sets from the MAC Tailormade collection
which was a Nordstrom exclusive. In addition to those brushes I got a
brush set from Costco from my mom the brand was Hanna K but I got rid
of those. From what I remember the face brushes were scratchy but the
eye brushes were decent. Once I really got into doing make up I
started to invest in full sized brushes and accumulated these brushes
over time.

(top to bottom: 182,187,190,217)
182: This brush is one of my favorite brushes that I own. I use this
brush to buff on my MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural powder or my
Lancome Dual Finish powder depending on what I feel like that day. It
is densley packed and really soft and
creates a flawless finish on my face. When compared to my Benefit
kabuki brush (not pictured) I don't get the same effect.
187: Another one of my favorite face brushes. I use the 187 to apply
my moisturizer as well as my liquid foundation MAC Studio Fix Fluid.
The duo fibre brush allows for a light application and blends
foundation in to my face for a completly natural airbrushed look. And
you don't use as much product with this brush. It's a must have!
190: I used to use this brush for foundation until I got the 187. I
felt like I was using too much foundation and painting it on. Instead
I use this to apply my primer Smashbox Photofinish Light.
217: Okay so this isn't a face brush its actually an an eye brush. But
I use this brush to apply and blend my concealer MAC Studio Finish
concealer for my face and MAC Select Moisturecover for my under eye.

2nd pic face brushes (color)
(168,187,188,129)
168: This angled brush I use to apply my contour color either MAC
blush in Strada, MAC sculpt powder in Bone Beige, or MAC blushcreme in
Cherce. I also use this to apply my bronzer Too Faced Carribean in a
Compact in Sun Bunny. It packs on the color lightly and blends nicely
as well.
187: Yes I have two 187 brushes one for my foundation and one for my
blushes/mineralize skinfinishes (MSF).
I usually use the 187 for my MSFs or my highly pigmented blushes for a
light application. I also sometimes use it to buff my blush out if I
used to much.
188: Pretty much the same as the 187 just a smaller version. I like to
use this to apply my highlight color.
129: The size of this brush is perfect for applying color to the
apples of my cheeks.

3rd pic eye brushes (short handle)
(top to bottom: Sephora bent brush,212 SE, 239 SE, 316 SE, 219 SE, 266
SE, and Sephora angled brush)
I don't really use these brushes that often since I got the full sized
versions. But I do use the 219 SE to apply a highlight color to the
inner corners of my eye. I also use the 239 SE when my full sized one
gets really dirty and I don't clean it. Which is bad I know but I try
to clean them lightly at least once a week and deep clean them once a
month.

4th pic eye brushes
(from L to R 227,224,222,217,272)
227: A great brush to apply highlight color to the brow bone or a
sheer wash of color over the lid. Also blends away any harsh lines.
224: A blending brush that I use for a soft wash of color in the
crease. It gives a nice airbrushed look to eyeshadow and blends
nicely.
222: Another blending brush that I use for a defined but blended
crease. I reach for this one more than my 224.
217: Yes I also have two 217 brushes. I use this one for that smokey
dark color on the outer V for some looks. Also good for blending lid
colors.
272: An angled eyeshadow brush the eye brush equivalent of the 168
face brush. I use this to really pack on color on the outer V and the
crease.

5th pic eye brush
(252, 239,242)
252: I used to use this paddle brush to apply eyeshadow to my lid
before I got my 239. Now I use it to apply my pigments and my
Mineralized Eyeshadows (MES) wet or dry.
239: One of my brush staples I use this brush to apply color to my
lids and blend on my lazy make up days. It really packs on the color
loves it!
242: I use this brush to apply my paintpots its great for emollient
based products.

6th eye brush
(213,219,208,266,209, some random sephora brush)
213: I don't use this brush that often other that to apply a light
wash of color to the lid.
219: I use this to for precise application of eyeshadow to the lid
especially in looks where I use multiple colors.
208: Another angled brush I use to fill in my eyebrows.
266: My other angled brush I use for eyeliner usually MAC fluidline in
blacktrack or graphic brown (LE with Amuse collection). And I also use
it to apply eyeshadow to my lower lash line.
209: I hate the brush that come with MAC liquidlast liners so I use
this instead. I also use this to apply a nice thin line of fluidline
it allows me to get as close to the lashline as possible for a more
natural look.
Whoa that was long and tideous but hopefully that gives you some idea
of what brushes to use for what application. Next post my first Face
of the Day ( FOTD).
